Action of Canavalia ensiformis in remediation of contaminated soil with sulfentrazone Bragantia
Madalão,João Carlos; Souza,Matheus Freitas de; Silva,Alberto Antônio; Silva,Daniel Valadão; Jakelaitis,Adriano; Pereira,Gustavo Antônio Mendes.
ABSTRACT This study evaluated the jack bean (Canavalia ensiformis) as a potential remediator of sulfentrazone in the soil. The experiment was conducted under field conditions in a complete randomised block design. The treatments consisted of soils with and without herbicide application as well as the absence and presence of C. ensiformis cultivation associated with incorporation into the soil or the removal of shoots of C. ensiformis. Sorghum was planted as a bioindicator to evaluate the remediation efficiency of jack bean. Sulfentrazone application in areas without C. ensiformis cultivation decreased plants stands, productivity, and height of sorghum compared to treatments where C. ensiformis was cultivated. Sorghum cultivated in succession to C....

Phytoremediation of Contaminated Soil with Sulfentrazone by Different Density of Crotalaria juncea Planta Daninha
FERRAÇO,M.; BELO,A.F.; PIRES,F.R.; BONOMO,R.; FILHO,A.C..
ABSTRACT: In phytoremediation programs of contaminated soil with herbicides, it is necessary to determine the appropriate density of phytoremediation species, since this practice will contribute to the efficiency of the process. The aim of this study, therefore, was to evaluate the influence of density in Crotalaria juncea on the phytoremediation of contaminated soils with the sulfentrazone herbicide. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse using plastics pots. The treatments were the combination of density of C. juncea, (0, 60, 120 and 240 plants m-2) and doses of sulfentrazone (0, 200 and 400 g i.a. ha-1). The herbicide was applied on the pots and then the species used for phytoremediation were sown. At 75 days after emergence, the plants were cut...

Phytoremediation of lowland soil contaminated with a formulated mixture of Imazethapyr and Imazapic1 Rev. Ciênc. Agron.
Souto,Kelen Müller; Avila,Luis Antonio de; Cassol,Guilherme Vestena; Machado,Sérgio Luiz de Oliveira; Marchesan,Enio.
The use of plants to decontaminate water and soil contaminated with both organic and inorganic pollutants is a promising technology for sustainable agriculture. The aim of this work was to evaluate the efficiency of plant species in the remediation of formulated mixtures of imazethapyr and imazapic, using the irrigated rice cultivar IRGA 417 as bioindicator. The treatments consisted of the combination of 13 plant species with seven rates of a formulated mixture of imazethapyr and Imazapic (75+25 g e.a. L-1 respectively): 0, 200, 300, 400, 500, 1000 and 4000 mL ha-1. To evaluate the potential for phytoremediation in these species, symptoms of injury and plant height were measured in rice plants at 7, 14, 21 and 28 days after emergence and shoot dry weight...

Senna multijuga and peat in phytostabilization of copper in contaminated soil AGRIAMBI
Marco,Rudinei De; Silva,Rodrigo F. da; Ros,Clovis O. Da; Vanzam,Mateus; Boeno,Daniel.
ABSTRACT Phytoremediation is a technique that uses plants, whether associated or not to ameliorating agents, for phytostabilization of contaminated soil. The aim of this study was to evaluate the use of Senna multijuga associated with peat in the phytostabilization of copper contaminated soil. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse for 120 days, using an entirely randomized design in a factorial arrangement (2 x 6), with and without peat (200 mL L-1 soil) and six doses of copper (0, 60, 120, 180, 240, 300 mg kg-1), with six repetitions of each treatment. At 120 days after seedling, the plants were evaluated for height, stem diameter, root and aerial dry matter, contents and accumulated amount of copper in the root system and aerial part. Also, the...
